Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced indirect tax professional to join our fast paced, collaborative corporate tax department. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, a self-starter, a problem solver, has a willingness to learn, and exercises independent judgement while still enjoying being part of a team. As a Beverage Compliance Analyst you will be responsible to:

  • Prepare and timely file complete and accurate beverage tax returns and payments

  • Prepare and timely file complete and accurate bottle deposit reports and payments

  • Perform daily review of new beverage items to ensure proper set up for all beverage related fees

  • Develop and maintain relationships with corporate and field accounting and procurement personnel to ensure compliance with beverage and bottle deposit laws

  • Prepare month-end journal entries

  • Prepare monthly tax account reconciliations

  • Perform audits and evaluations of records and processes to ensure compliance and advise on best practices

  • Research and interpret relevant transactional tax law as needed

  • Prepare other transactional tax reports as assigned

  • Respond timely and appropriately to tax notices as assigned

  • Interact and communicate effectively with business personnel and business units to understand transactions and ensure accurate reporting

  • Monitor new regulations and guidelines relevant to beverage tax and bottle deposit compliance

  • Support state and local audits with information gathering, data analysis, and implementation of system changes with respect to audit findings

  • Improve processes by developing and/or implementing standard approved methodologies

  • Cross train to prepare and file timely and accurate sales tax returns and payments

  • Other functions and projects as assigned

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

• 2 or more year’s direct experience with multi-state

sales and use tax and/or beverage tax

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

• Experience with Alteryx

• Experience effectively prioritizing workload to meet

deadlines and work objectives

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written

communication skills, specifically across teams and

with government agencies

• Detail orientation with proven analytical skills and

problem resolution skills

• Strong project management and organization skills

• Technical writing and research experience in a tax

context

• Experience with tax research platforms is a plus (RIA,

TTR or CCH)

• Strong influencing skills and the confidence to

question existing processes

• Self-motivation and innovation with the ability to

thrive under pressure

Compensation:

$55,000-$65,000 + 15 Annual incentive bonus
