Job Description:
Vistar/PFG has an exciting new opportunity in Jackson Wisconsin (27 minutes north of Milwaukee) for an Accounting Manager in the field. The ideal candidate will be responsible for timely financial reporting and analysis. On a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, will work closely with the General Manager for the OPCO and corporate financial management to discuss financial results and provide reports as required. Also, work closely with Corporate on month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations. Provide input for the monthly monitoring of the annual budget. Assist with financial planning through analysis of historical data; develop projections and recommendations to senior management. Manage a small team consisting of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. Internal contact with employees at all levels in the organization and the capability to work with each department for the best end result. Also will perform any duty assigned to best service the company.
Major Functional Responsibilities:
Supervise associates to include, but not limited to, staffing, training, coaching, performance management and problem resolution. Ensures duties are performed in a timely and accurate manner
Ensure all monthly, quarterly and annual deadlines for accounting and financial reports are properly prepared and analyzed and all related transactions are processed. Ensure all financial reports are prepared for corporate financial management
Assist with the preparation of various financial planning reports through the analysis of appropriate data. Develop projections and recommendations for senior management review
Analyze financial income statements, properly record all accounting transactions
Responsible for the day to day OPCO including transactions and financial reports
Work with internal and external customers as needed
Direct activities of teams responsible for general ledger accounting, vendor billing, fixed assets and related capital expenditure accounting
Provide strategic recommendations for process improvements and efficient use of resources. Effectively lead your team through change
Recommend and ensure adherence to accounting policies. Prepare and review for internal/external auditors in connection with reviews/audits

Required Qualifications:
Required Education: High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
Required Experience: 10 Years + Please specify: Accounting experience, including supervisory experience in a high-volume transaction environment
Strong understanding and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills required
Demonstrated ability to positively lead teams through change
Working knowledge and analytical skills to make independent judgments in relation to complex accounting processes and the business
Strong computer and analytical skills: High proficiency in Excel, working knowledge of Access
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects/tasks in a high-volume, changing environment
Ability to maintain efficient and effective financial systems and procedures: Self motivated with ability to work under and meet strict deadlines individually as well as in a team environment
Abiltiy to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees
Ability to work flexible hours as required
